Will an infra-red CCTV camera work if it is mounted indoors (pointing outdoors through glass)?

I'm setting up a CCTV camera which is fitted with IR LEDs.

It would be easier for me to mount it indoors, pointing outside at my drive. This would save me drilling through the wall of the house to run power and video cable through.

The question is, will the transition through glass impede the IR light, making it ineffective?

Without the LEDs I'd say definitely OK. With the LEDs, just like taking a flash picture through a window, you might need to experiment with the angle so you don't just see a reflection in the window.
