I need some help on a physics/chemistry report!!!?
Okay!
I have had to research the uses of radiation and isotopes in medical and non medical situations. Problem is, i have found the uses and which radiation is needed, just not which specific isotopes are use in each situation!
It would be a great help if anyone knew specific isotopes used for:
A smoke detector
Measuring the thickness of paper
sterilising medical equipment
as a tracer in the body
Chemotherapy

Well, in a smoke detector, they use Am-241 (Americium-241).
As a tracer in the body, they can use several different isotopes. One would be Tc-99 (Technetium-99).
