My son was savagely attacked in Soho by a gang with such severe injuries that the enquiry opened as a murder investigation. Unfortunately, although Soho is supposed to be well equipped with CCTV cameras so that such incidents are recorded, on this occasion the cameras swung round from the scene of the incident every time they could have presented useful information. They showed the "before" and "after" but not the attack itself. This went a good way to destroying my confidence in their general usefulness!
