The right to see CCTV in the UK (see below)?

My car got scraped in a train station car park and whoever did it drove off without leaving insurance details.

The British Transport Police are going to look at the CCTV and see if they can see the number plate; I need to call them back this week. I'm just wondering . . . if they say they can't do anything about it am I entitled to request a copy of the CCTV myself?

Thus far everyone I've spoken to at the police / transport police have been utterly gormless and I have little trust and confidence in them. In fact, one person I spoke to didn't even know how to transfer a call so asked me to call back and when I did I was transferred to the wrong person!

They're trying to make out the chances of getting the person are very slim. So I question why my hard-earned tax is being spent on security systems that don't work!

i am pretty sure i once read in the metro that since you are being filmed you are allowed to see the footage at any time??

i am sure it was law for you to be abe to see it ... something like that
