There are many forms of private investigation. Images of shady characters in long over coats wearing large hats and tailing suspects through busy city streets readily come to mind but in reality, these images are best reserved for Hollywood. If you are thinking of becoming a private investigator or you are just starting out, surveillance will be an important part of your charter.

This article will endeavor to present some private investigation and surveillance tips which may help you in determining whether this is for you. The world of the private investigator is one of patience and dedication which will see you in some unusual situations.

Let's start with investigation vehicle and tailing.

For mobile surveillance it's recommended that mini-vans are preferred. Accessories such as tinted glass are an excellent smoke screen that allows you to sit in the back, unnoticed, almost anywhere. It's also suggested that older mini-vans are better because they blend in better and are more nimble than newer ones. These type of mini-vans are a dime a dozen and don't draw attention.

More Private Investigation And Surveillance Tips - Tailing On The Move

When tailing in city streets, it's advised to stay on the suspect vehicle's bumper while in slower areas, you should allow a car between the vehicle you are following and you. The problem of conducting a tail in the city is that there are too many stoplights, traffic and stop signs. Losing your suspect can be easy.

A private investigator has to possess some detective ability as well. When determining whether a vehicle has been moved during the night check the dew on the vehicle. If it's lacking, then this is a sure sign the vehicle was moved. Staying in touch with a person when you are tailing requires a little skill but this gets better with more experience. When the vehicle you are following makes a sudden stop in front of a house, keep calm and continue on a short way and when appropriate, pull into an empty driveway but keeping the target in view at all times.

Some Verifying And Recording 101

Experienced private investigators generally follow the same process with verifying a person's address. The obvious is a name on the mailbox but if there are none, then check to see if there is mail protruding from the mailbox before taking a quick look.

Count the number of electric meters to ascertain whether the home is a multi-family or single home. Taking detailed notes via a voice recorder or pen and paper is highly recommended. If there is a vehicle in the driveway, make note of the vehicle's number plate and it's make as well as the date and time. Record anyone showing up, any vehicle movement, etc. Taking notes is important for your client’s report. Accuracy is vital because, as a private investigator, you may be asked to testify.

It is always difficult to accurately estimate the height of an individual. One tip is to compare the person's height to that of the vehicle that they get out of or into. This becomes much easier over time.

Video Surveillance Tips

For starters, make sure you have a reliable camera because of the stop start nature of this kind of surveillance. One trick is to create a border between each clip and an effective way is just placing a hand or fingers over the camera. Your camera should display a time and date stamp; today, this is almost regulation with most cameras. Don't just concentrate on close ups of the suspect; wide shots are critical in verifying that the person was actually at the location you are surveying.

Finally and this is often overlooked, toilet paper, yes, toilet paper is often a good idea. Why? Well, simply put, you will be involved in the occasional long stake out and when mother nature beckons in awkward situations, you'll be glad you have a roll of toilet paper in the vehicle.

While the above doesn't sound as glamorous a job as that portrayed by Robert Mitchum as the famous Philip Marlowe, it's not meant to be. But if you adhere to proper private investigation and surveillance tips, then your career as a private investigator should prove rewarding.

You can’t recall when it started, but you know it’s present now. It’s that sinking funny feeling you get in your stomach, possibly an intuition that makes you believe that your spouse is stepping out and having an affair and cheating on you. Maybe things just don’t seem right or as they used to with your husband or wife. Is there a new unexplainable tension in your relationship? Maybe something has changed with your girlfriend or boyfriend…. Regardless of whether it is an emotional affair or a physical affair it is still cheating. Infidelity is infidelity.

Many people feel that they are the only one that has ever been humiliated and hurt by a cheating spouse. However, adultery, infidelity, or cheating, whatever you want to call it, crosses all social barriers. It doesn’t matter how much money you make, where you are located geographically, what you do for a living or what you don’t do for a living, or any other factors-cheating is present in all walks of and stations in life. Many people thing that men are the most likely to cheat, but women are nearly as prone to cheating.

In a March 2006 study titled, “American Sexual Behavior: Trends, Socio-Demographic Differences, and Risk Behavior,” by Tom W. Smith of the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago, it is stated that, “The best estimates are that about 3-4% of currently married people have a sexual partner besides their spouse in a given year and about 15-18% of ever-married people have had a sexual partner other than their spouse while married.”

Do you want to catch them in the act of have enough evidence to confront them? Then keep reading!

Here’s a list of several signs, or “red flag indicators,” that your spouse is cheating. You’ll notice that they are not geared more towards any particular gender. Also, it is quite possible that one or several of these indicators are present, but that doesn’t mean your spouse is cheating. What may be a red flag in one relationship may be nothing to be concerned about in another relationship. Some of these indicators might be “tongue in cheek” while others might be a dead giveaway and definitive proof. No matter what these signs and symptoms of cheating need to be examined and considered in their totality. Proper and complete investigation is required to reach an appropriate conclusion.

Birth control is found and your husband has had a vasectomy or your wife has had a tubal ligation.

Mutual friends start acting awkwardly around you (they either have knowledge of the cheating or have been told stories about how you’re a bad wife or husband)

Your husband or wife stops confiding in your or asking your for advice and input.

An email account is set up and you are not told of it.

The spouse leaves the house smelling of one fragrance but arrives home smelling of another.

They join a gym and start a arduous physical training program.

Your husband or wife begins to keep a change of clothes hidden in the trunk of their vehicle or an unusual amount of clothes are being stored at the gym or inside a gym duffle bag.

Your wife or husband opens a post office box account without telling you.

Your spouse buys a prepaid cellular phone or starts a new cellular phone account and doesn’t tell you.

Maybe a new cellular account is opened and billing is sent to the spouse’s office.

Your spouse begins regularly deleting incoming phone calls from the call history and/or caller ID log on their cellular phone.

Your spouse starts to regularly delete all incoming emails when they used to accumulate.

You receive telephone calls where the caller hangs up when they hear your voice.

Your wife or husband uses a low voice or whisper when talking on the phone or hangs up quickly.

Your spouse tells you that you can get in touch with them at a different telephone number than they are normally at.

Your spouse becomes accusatory asking if you are being true to them possibly out of their own feelings of guilt.

Starts asking hypothetical questions like, “Do you think it is possible that a person can love more than one person at a time?

He or she buys themselves new underwear.

You find intimate clothing or gifts that you did not give your spouse.

Your husband or wife insists that the children’s car seat and/or toys be kept out of their vehicle.

Your wife or husband stops wearing their wedding ring.

Your spouse has a new and/or sudden interest to assist in doing the laundry.

Has unexplained scratches or bruises on their body.

Your spouse has a sudden desire to try to love making techniques.

Your husband or wife stops having sex with you all together.

Your wife or husband suddenly wants to have more sex with you or wants sex more often with you.

Your spouse supposedly works a lot of overtime, but it is not reflected in their paycheck or finances.

Your wife or husband starts fights in order to stomp out of the house.

You find out by accident or coincidence that your husband or wife took a vacation or sick day from work but according to them they were at work that day or at that time.

Your spouse’s co-workers are uncomfortable in your presence.

Your husband or wife instructs you to not visit them at their place of work.

Your spouse shows sudden interest in a different genre of music.

Your husband or wife has a newfound preoccupation with their appearance.

He or she spends and excessive amount of time on the computer –especially after you have gone to bed.

Your husband or wife is away from home, either at night or on trips, more than they used to be.

Their clothes smell of an unfamiliar perfume or cologne.

The amount of money being deposited into a checking account unexplainably drops off.

Your husband or wife seems to be more “touchy,” has mood swings, or is easily angered.

Your husband or wife loses attention in activities in your home.

Your spouse had a clear change of attitude towards everyone in the home.

  They display uncharacteristic erratic behavior.

They sneak out of the house.

Your spouse goes to the store to get something simple and is gone for hours.

Your husband or wife has an unexplainable increase in their vehicle’s mileage reading or increase in their gasoline expenses.

You notice credit card charges for gifts that you did not receive.

You notice an increase in ATM withdrawals.

Remember: these indicators must be analyzed in their totality. The presence of one indicator does not provide a definitive answer to the question.

So, how do you catch your spouse in the act of cheating? For one, seek the assistance of an outside 3rdparty. Not a friend or family member, but a professional that deals with this sort of thing on a regular basis. Possibly you need to hire a Private Investigation or even maybe a psychologist. It may be a good idea to hire both!

What can you do yourself? First and foremost, trust your intuition, but gain confirmation. Start looking at your spouse’s overall behaviors and any change in their appearance. Listen closely to your spouse for any off color or out of character remarks being made. Also, pay attention to inconsistencies or lies. Take note of any new smells on your spouse’s person or in their vehicle. This can range from unfamiliar fragrances to incriminating sexual odors. Stay vigilant, but not intrusive of their privacy.

Also, document everything. Do not rely on your memory. Record your findings in a journal and keep it under lock and key. This will make it easier for you to analyze what is happening and determine patterns. Continue your observations and things will begin to fall into place.

You must also be disciplined and restrain yourself. It’ll take a large effort on your part to keep your mouth shut as you develop evidence against your spouse. There will be an appropriate time for confrontation later….

Most importantly-DO NOT jeopardize your safety or legal liability in an attempt to gain insight or evidence of any affair or cheating!

There are several applicable State and Federal laws that must be adhered to in the investigation of infidelity. Either consult your Attorney or let a professional Private Investigator take over in these instances.

For instance there are laws that pertain to using GPS tracking devices. In California, Penal Code Section 637.7 states:

“637.7.(a) No person or entity in this state shall use an

electronic tracking device to determine the location or movement of a person.”

And there is always technicality of laws. For instance, there is Assembly Bill 452, that if passed, will amend the above referenced Penal Code Section.

“Tapping” phones and/or intercepting email communications is also prohibited in California under Penal Code Section 631, which states:

“631.(a) Any person who, by means of any machine, instrument, or contrivance, or in any other manner, intentionally taps, or makes any unauthorized connection, whether physically, electrically, acoustically, inductively, or otherwise, with any telegraph or telephone wire, line, cable, or instrument, including the wire, line, cable, or instrument of any internal telephonic communication

system, or who willfully and without the consent of all parties to the communication, or in any unauthorized manner, reads, or attempts to read, or to learn the contents or meaning of any message, report, or communication while the same is in transit or passing over any wire, line, or cable, or is being sent from, or received at any place within this state; or who uses, or attempts to use, in any manner, or for any purpose, or to communicate in any way, any information so obtained, or who aids, agrees with, employs, or conspires with any person or persons to unlawfully do, or permit, or cause to be done any of the acts or things mentioned above in this section, is punishable by a fine not exceeding two thousand five hundred dollars (,500), or by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one year, or by imprisonment in the state prison, or by both a fine and imprisonment in the county jail or in the state prison.”

Think it might be a good idea to take a look at your spouse’s consumer credit report to see if they have any new credit cards? Don’t even think about it. Title 15 of the United State Code section 1681 lists more than a few permissible purposes for obtaining a consumer credit report…and spousal infidelity isn’t one of them!

Oh yeah, about bank account records and statements that are not in your name: It takes an act of God or at least a court order.

Then there is surveillance. Ah yes, good ole spying. It’s a GREAT tool to use. It can oftentimes produce smoking gun evidence of infidelity and get it all caught on film or some other media. We’ve all seen it on television and in the movies. Once again, there are applicable laws that must be followed (pun intended). So many that it is the subject of another article! And, it’s not the easiest task to accomplish. Surveillance is not about sitting outside a house in a car in the rain, or looking through a small in a newspaper you are pretending to be reading. It is part art and part science.

Sounds pretty gloomy with no hope of seeking the truth? Not so fast. There is a solution. Find a competent licensed Private Investigator. They’ll know the appropriate course of action if there are attuned at working infidelity investigations. They will probably have more than a few tricks up their sleeve. And they will be abreast of all the legalities involved. They can undertake the task, and get to the bottom of it all for you.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is the first CSI crime investigation show to air. CSI Miami and then CSI New York followed it. It has been on for nine season and the original cast members of CSI are William Peterson (Gil Grissom), Marg Helgenberger (Catherine), George Eads (Nick), Eric Szmanda (Greg), Paul Guilfoyle (Capt. Brass), and Robert David Hall (coroner). Warrick and Sara played by Gary Dourdin and Jorja Fox exited the show. Sara left in season 8 because she wanted more money and Warrick died in the opener of season 9 for personal life problems.

The show is amazing as it shows you what it takes to solve a crime. CSI: Crime Investigation solves murders and finds people that may have been a witness to a crime or been involved or knew someone that was. The weekly show focuses on collecting evidence at crime scenes and analyzing the collected items to find the suspect.

Gil is the head of the crime lab and Catherine is his next in command. Catherine is the daughter of now dead casino owner that had ties to crime operations in Las Vegas. Gil is a loner and has a dog at home. He started a relationship with Sara before she left the show. Every now and then Gil thinks about Sarah and wonders what could have been.

The rest of the crime team work together to solve crimes, but they are more of a family. When something happens to one of them, it affects the entire team. Warrick's death in season 9 has left Gil rethinking his priorities and he turns to a madam that is into S&M. She was introduced in season 8 as a suspect for a sexual murder and cleared.

As you watch the private and professional lives of the team, you can see how they handle a life with or without love and with children. The show is always filled with suspense. Catherine's daughter has grown up and has the entire city of Las Vegas to explore. What will she get into next.

If you are looking to have information on the identity, character, habits, or the movements of a person or a group of persons, you investigate them. Such investigation may also include learning about the whereabouts, affiliations, associations as well as the transactions carried out by such individual or group during a specific time.

The problem is that if you try to do them on your own you may not succeed due to lack of experience and professional expertise. Moreover there are also chances of your being caught in such act thus defeating your sole purpose of such investigation. This is the job for a professional who has some technical training and experience in the trade.

Ordinarily the term surveillance refers to verifying and monitoring of behavior. It could be either the behavior of human beings or of objects or processes in any system. Such surveillance is carried out to find out the conformity of such persons, objects or processes with the trusted patterns or systems.

The term is used for all types of observation processes including visual observation. The close circuit TVs used in modern shops and buildings are examples of surveillance equipments. However surveillance requires the services of a person or agency and this is where the private investigator steps in.

          ]]>

All the above investigations can be suitably and efficiently carried out by the private investigators. They can also investigate into the credibility of the person or persons concerned. Some other jobs they perform could be tracing out missing persons or objects, their locations, recovery of properties that have been stolen, and finding out the real culprit or causes of any such mishap or incidents taking place. They could even find out people responsible for property damages, libels, or losses in business.

Such private investigators will charge differential rates for different types of tasks assigned to them. It is your responsibility to understand the terms and conditions under which they agree to perform your job assigned and the fees and other payables in the process.

Unless your investigator is true professional you may not expect the best of results in investigations carried out by them. The primary requirement is that they should be duly licensed with the State Department paying the license fees and fingerprints. Normally such licenses are issued for two years and make sure that the person or agency you are engaging does not carry an expired license.

A person must be 25 years or above and be the principal entity in the business to be the license holder. Such individual must have the requisite expertise to verify the investigations on day to day basis and should have passed the private investigator exam. In fact the State authorities do not accept applications for license unless the person concerned has passed such examination within two years of applying for license. Such person should also have "experience" of direct investigation or "equivalent experience" of three years position with investigation or Surveillance as primary responsibility in an organization.

Are you interested in making a career as a Private Investigator but are confused regarding how to go about it? If yes then you need not look further, here's a comprehensive guide to all you need to know regarding how to become a Private Investigator.

One of the first things that you need to know regarding how to become a Private Investigator is the educational requirements for the job.

Luckily, there are no hard and fast rules for the educational requirements to become a Private Investigator. However, it is wise to at least complete high school and get an associate's degree in criminal justice. Additionally, taking subjects like law enforcement, police science, victimology, family law, organized crimes, criminal procedures and evidence is also equally important.

Apart from getting the basic education, it is also recommended to have some sort of working experience in the field of law enforcement. This will not only provide you some significant insight but also give you an opportunity to boost your career.

Additionally, if you wish to specialize in an area like corporate or computer investigation, you will be required to get a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field in order to be qualified for the job at hand.

          ]]>

Licensure is another aspect that you must deal with in order to become a private investigator. Unfortunately, licensing and certification varies from state to state, thus you need to first find out what the requirements are in your state and then take the licensing exam accordingly.

Some of the basic characteristics you should possess to become a Private Investigator include:

The ability to work under pressure
The ability to work at odd hours
Spontaneity and tactfulness
Having a strong stomach for blood and other traumatizing events
Strong writing and communication skills
A detail catcher
Being technical savvy and well versed in operating computers or other recently developed technologies

In order to understand how to become a Private Investigator, one must also have a detailed understanding of what they are required to do.

A day in the life of a private investigator is as thrilling and challenging as it can be. It is never the same as the day before. One week you might be hooked on catching a murderer whereas the next week investigating a cheating spouse. One of the most exciting things about this career is the routine; you are no longer restricted to mundane 9 to 5 job throughout the week. You are allowed to work at your own pace, as you wish to as long as you get the job done at the end of the day. Some of the key responsibilities of a Private Investigator involve:

Running a background check on a person to verify their identities, income or employment details
Conducting interviews with suspects or the people involved in the current case under investigation
Installing various monitoring and surveillance equipments to get the evidence required for your case
Analyzing evidence or observing sites under investigation
Following suspects and keeping a close tab on them

One of the most crucial things that you must know about how to become a Private Investigator is that there is no preset guidelines for this sort of job. You need to do everything and anything it takes to get the job done.

If you’re looking for a good private investigator, you may need to look no further than online. In the past if you were looking for a private investigator, you would look in the phone book, but now many private investigators advertise online and know the ins and outs of gathering information online better than a high-school hacker, so that you might never even have to leave your home to hire a good private investigator or obtain the information they manage to gather for you.

In addition to all the things that private investigators have always done, like catching cheating spouses and chasing down deadbeat dads, private investigators are using their online search tools to find missing people, follow tax fraud and money laundering and background checks on potential employees to potential spouses. While private investigators still sometimes wind up doing fieldwork to gather information, much of a private investigators time is spent searching for people. The online revolution has helped to simplify the job of a private investigator and make it easier for you to find and choose a quality private investigator if you should find yourself in need of one.

          ]]>

Private investigators now perform quite a lot of their work online. For instance, if they are looking for someone, or tracking them down, a private investigator might use some of the online search programs that he or she has a subscription to so they can see if the individual they are looking for has any recent work history, or traffic violations. They might use this information to find the person’s address. From there, they can continue their online search to go as in depth in their search as they need in order to find the individual they’re looking for.

Another way a private investigator can work online is by submitting certain paperwork that comes with the job. This includes invoices and reports for clients, as well as the proper paper work that’s needed when collaborating with police. Often, when a private investigator has a client, they need to fill out detailed invoices and at times will have to complete reports when they’re working with the authorities on a case. By working online, a private investigator can submit these documents via secure email to the client or authorities instead of having to wait all the time it takes to mail the documents out.

Many private investigators find that they spend most of their work time online searching through financial records, department of motor vehicles records, police records, county property records and their email. While it’s pretty obvious that much of the time checking email will also include correspondence with clients and potential clients, it may not be so obvious that much of a private investigator’s online time is spent searching for people, which is why they find themselves searching online and using all the knowledge they have gained about searching for people online to gather the information the client has requested.

In general, the job of a private investigator is commonly stereotyped as glamorous and dangerous. On television, PIs such as Magnum kept many viewers entranced and on the edge of their seats. Many fictional PIs, such as Sam Spade, would be characterized as ‘hard boiled', meaning they have seen it all, done it all, and it all falls right off their backs at the end of the day. Private investigators in real life lead a much different and pretty mundane existence. Much of the work they do is termed as ‘hurry up and wait'. For every assignment they take on, there is usually hours of mundane research, investigation, surveillance, and various paperwork-related duties, compared to a very few minutes of action, if any.

The first thought that may come to mind when thinking of private investigators is that they follow people around and take pictures. There are many that do just that, but there are also many classifications of private investigator that just don't come to mind immediately. Private investigators may work for large corporations, doing background checks on employees or during the hiring process, investigating insurance fraud, or doing investigative computer work. Not all private investigators follow cheating spouses or winnow out spies for the government, though there are those that do. Investigators may also work for hotels, stores, legal agencies, financial institutions, and many other places that any type of investigative work is needed. There are a vast number of different things that investigators look into.

There are usually no hard and fast rules concerning requirements to become a private investigator. Many PIs have some type of law enforcement background, and understand how the law works in their area. It is a must for PIs to understand the law as it applies on their local, state, and Federal levels. They are trying to make things right for their clients, not aid their clients in breaking laws.

          ]]>

Many people feel more comfortable with a PI that has a postsecondary degree in some type of law or criminal justice, and it helps when they have some type of experience. Of course, a law degree is not as helpful for those PIs that are more into some type of computer forensics or insurance fraud investigations, but it all depends on the actual type of investigations the PI is interested in doing or specializes in.

With very few exceptions, most states require that a PI be licensed to do investigative work, and this license does have to be renewed. There is no national standard in place at this time for the licensure of private investigators. Most states also have minimum age limits as well, set at 18 or 21. A PI that has a license may find it much easier to do their investigations, and any extra certifications can provide more willingness on the part of others to truly respect the abilities of a PI.

If a situation calls for a PI to be armed, the PI must have the certifications required to carry any type of firearm. Laws differ from state to state, and PIs must know the laws of a particular state before entering into that state with a firearm.

A private investigator's work environment largely depends upon the type of investigation they are doing. If they are working primarily on computers, it is likely that the environment will be climate controlled and much more pleasant than those that work ‘on the street'. Hours can be incredibly long and unpredictable, especially during a surveillance mission. Undercover work can be even more unpredictable as the situation normally calls for a far different lifestyle than the investigator normally leads.

It is not uncommon for many PIs to work alone, and many prefer to do so. However, it is also common to see PIs work with one or more team members, and they may be called into a working group that involves many other professions.

The job is stressful most especially for PIs that come into contact with distraught clients or may have a confrontation with someone they are investigating. The job can be dangerous and physically demanding at times. A PI must try to keep as healthy as possible due to the stressing demands of long, irregular hours, having to sit still for hours and possibly several days, and understand how to deal with emotional clients as well as confrontational subjects.

In many cases it is very important that PIs keep physically fit and have the ability to spend long hours in one position. For PIs that must be armed, they should have a keen eye and very fast reflexes. Fatal accidents are historically rare concerning PIs and their related work. They must also be emotionally stable, as the job can be psychologically and emotionally stressful at times.

A private investigator may be a good choice when intensive or routine investigation is needed for any reason. Most PIs are professionally licensed and have an extensive background in their chosen field of investigation. Many have a background in law and know the proper way to react in a removed way from a situation that a client may be overwrought in. Above all, when searching for the correct private investigator for your needs, make sure the independent PI or PI agency can answer all of your questions thoroughly and without too much hesitation.

Familiar with the hardware keylogger concept? A hardware keylogger is an ideal solution for monitoring a computer user’s activity. A hardware keylogger is a pure electronic device, requiring no additional software or drivers, and no access to the operating system. A hardware keylogger leaves no traces behind, and is completely undetectable to software and security scanners.

What are the applications of the KeyDemon hardware keylogger? Parents use hardware keyloggers mainly for monitoring their children, protecting them from on-line hazards and predators, observing WWW, E-mail, and chat usage. Employers may use the KeyDemon hardware keylogger for monitoring employee productivity, checking acceptable internet usage, and collecting corporate equipment usage statistics. Private investigators apply hardware keyloggers in the process of collecting computer-related evidence. Finally the KeyDemon hardware keylogger may be used by anybody to check if their spouse is cheating on them, or simply to make a backup of typed text.

One of the questions that should be answered at this point, is if using a hardware keylogger is legal. Technically speaking, you should contact a lawyer to get detailed information about the local laws, and the application for which you intend to use a hardware keylogger. Generally it's permitted to monitor your own computer, meaning you can watch what your kids and family are doing on the computer. If you want to monitor your employees, or perform any other type of surveillance, you should display a clear notice about this fact. It is obviously NOT LEGAL to use this device for any type spying, or stealing confidential data.

KeyDemon offers a broad range of hardware keylogger devices. The entry level KeyDemon USB and KeyDemon PS/2 have 4MB or 2GB of built-in memory, meaning years-worth of typing. Installing a KeyDemon hardware keylogger takes a few seconds, and requires no additional software or drivers. Simply plug the keylogger in-line between the keyboard and USB or PS/2 port. Keystroke logging will start automatically. To view recorded data, use a 3-key combination supplied with every device. This will switch the hardware keylogger into a removable flash disk, containing a text file with all the logged keystroke data.

In some applications, it’s important to collect information not only about what was typed, but also when it was typed. For this purpose, the KeyDemon TimeKeeper USB and TimeKeeper PS/2 were created. These keylogger devices inherit all the functionality of the standard series, and additionally contain a built-in timestamping module and battery. The timestamping module will keep track of the current time and date, and place special time- and date-stamps in the log file. The TimeKeeper keylogger series contains 2 Gigabytes of built-in memory.

The hardware keylogger concept inherits one weakness: physical access to the keylogger is required for retrieving captured data. KeyDemon also offers a solution to this problem: a Wireless Keylogger. The KeyDemon Wi-Fi Premium wireless keylogger is packed with state-of-the-art electronics: two powerful processors, a full TCP/IP stack, a WLAN transceiver, and 2 Gigabytes of memory. How does it work? Besides standard PS/2 and USB keylogger functionality, it features remote access over the Internet. This wireless keylogger will connect to a local Wi-Fi Access Point, and send E-mails containing recorded keystroke data. You can also connect to the keylogger at any time over TCP/IP and view the captured log. All this is a device less than 2 inches (5 cm) long. Additionally, the KeyDemon Wi-Fi Premium control software can communicate with multiple Wi-Fi hardware keyloggers, allowing creating entire networks of wireless keyloggers. This solution is particularly recommended for monitoring several computers in a household, or controlling employee productivity in companies.

The latest line of Hardware keylogger from KeyDemon is the Nano series, including the KeyDemon Nano 8MB and KeyDemon Nano Wi-Fi 8MB. The Nano keylogger series devices are only one inch (2.5 cm) long, making them the smallest keyloggers on the market. Smaller than the size of a USB keyboard plug, they are barely noticeable. This means they are the stealthiest devices available. Minimizing the risk of disclosure, the Nano keylogger series is particularly recommended for critical applications, such as investigations and security tasks. The Nano keylogger series is not only size-optimized, but also price-optimized, thanks to which it is quickly becoming a best-seller.

KeyDemon also took key logging to the next level, introducing the innovative VideoGhost video-logger. Why log only keystrokes, when you can record entire screenshots? That's precisely what this tiny hardware frame-grabber does: silently records screenshots and stores them as JPEGs to an internal 2GB flash disk. Simply connect this tiny video-logger to the computer’s DVI, VGA, or HDMI port, and it will automatically take a snapshot every few seconds. To view the recorded images, simply switch the VideoGhost to flash drive mode, and it'll pop-up as a removable disk containing recorded JPEGs. This tiny patent-pending frame-grabber is the first of its kind available on the market!

Hardware keyloggers and video-loggers are truly unique solutions, offering a broad set of applications in places where software monitoring options come to their limits. KeyDemon is the worldwide leader in designing and manufacturing these devices. The volume of devices already sold guarantees not only the highest quality, but also the most competitive prices. Check the KeyDemon website for detailed information and interesting multimedia materials.
